University of Kent is offering scholarship for international students to pursue taught postgraduate degree. Scholarship is awarded on the basis of academic excellence as assessed by the entry qualifications for each postgraduate programme. ESMOD Berlin is calling for applications to apply for two hessnatur Scholarships to attend the International Masters Programme - Sustainability in Fashion commencing in October 2013hessnatur is a natural clothing company that produces organic clothing and textiles, whom is one of Europe’s largest online fashion distributors, and known internationally as an ecological and fair trade pioneer. hessnatur will continue their support for the programme through again providing two outstanding fashion students whom have a strong engagement with sustainability, with a scholarship that will cover half of the tuition to complete the innovative one-year English taught course.

HOW TO APPLYApplications are sought from candidates internationally with a fashion background in design, marketing or similar and a strong interest in sustainability in fashion. You must also meet the eligibility requirements of the Masters Programme to apply for the scholarship and follow the application procedure outlined below for a place within the course. In addition, you must complete the hessnatur Scholarship application form. You have the chance to present yourself and your background and experiences in a short digital outline.
The winning applicant should be aware that they need to be able to meet the remaining financial requirements to support their studies through the one year programme including living costs, relocation costs and course related material costs.  
SELECTION CRITERIA
The winning recipient should display an innovative design portfolio with a high degree of excellence in conceptual and practical execution. Applications from candidates with a fashion marketing background will also be accepted and the portfolio must be devised to meet your individual requirements. The applicant should demonstrate a passion for sustainability within fashion and the portfolio must reflect the applicant’s engagement with sustainability to date.

Written statements that exceed the work limit will not be accepted.
  • Maximum 4 page (A4) presentation of yourself including: resume/CV/biography outlining your current experiences to date including academic qualifications and work experience as excerpts of your creative portfolio. This must be an edited selection of your best work to date.
  • The whole application must be submitted in English

2 PhD Scholarships in experimental semiconductor-based quantum information processing

The Center for Quantum Devices at the Niels Bohr Institute, University of Copenhagen, announces the opening of two PhD positions in coupled multi-electron spin qubits in GaAs and other heterostructured semiconductors.
Research involves experimental design, fabrication of submicron devices and associated electronics, radio-frequency measurement in a dilution refrigerator, data acquisition and analysis, and scientific writing.

The position

The position is for three or four years and expected to lead to a Ph.D. degree at the University of Copenhagen.
The University of Copenhagen is oldest university in Denmark founded in 1479. With its approximately 37000 students and 7500 employees. The Center for Quantum Devices is a Basic Research Center established in 2012 and supported by the Danish National Research Foundation.
  • Position starts January 6, 2014.

The candidate

The successful applicant will enroll as a Ph.D. student at the University of Copenhagen. The Ph.D. program, in addition to the project work, comprises participation in courses or international Ph.D. schools and some activity as teaching assistant.
Applicants must have completed at least one year of a relevant M. Sc. Degree, or, for US applicants, an Undergraduate Degree in a related area, at the time of start of the appointment.
The candidate must have strong background in physics at the masters level, with advanced coursework in quantum mechanics and condensed matter physics, as well as significant experimental experience. Experience and coursework in electronics is also helpful.

Terms of appointment and payment

Salary, pension and terms of employment are in accordance with the agreement between the Ministry of Finance and The Academics Central organization. The salary depends on seniority, as agreed between the Ministry of Finance and the Danish Confederation of Professional Associations. Currently, starting salaries are about 25,000 DKK (€ 3,330) per month for Ph.D. students - plus full benefits including pension. The position is open for candidates of all nationalities.

Management Development Institute of Singapore (MDIS), Singapore offers merit scholarship for international students.
