The University of Queensland Social & Behavioural Sciences (SBS) Scholarship

Schlarship for:

The scholarship will be awarded to outstanding graduates seeking admission into Psychology, Social Science, Social Work, Behavioural Studies, Communication/Journalism.

Value:

The SBS Scholarship covers $5,000 of the tuition fees per year, for the duration of the undergraduate program. If you are enrolling in a dual degree, the scholarship will cover $5,000 per year of the SBS courses that you undertake.

The University of Queensland, Faculty of Social and Behavioural Sciences (SBS). 

Availability:

One per year.

Who can apply:

Students will be considered for the UQ SBS Scholarship after completing the UQ Foundation Year program.  The scholarship is offered on the basis of academic excellence.

EGYPTIAN PUBLIC SCHOOLS SCHOLARSHIPS

AUC offers twenty annual full-tuition scholarships to Egyptian students who come from Public schools. Applicants should submit Financial Aid forms along with the admission requirements to the Student Service Center.

Eligibility


  • Applicants should be Egyptian students coming from Public schools (not including language schools).
  • They should have an outstanding secondary school academic record.
  • They should demonstrate their financial need for the scholarship.
  • They should meet admission requirements.
Maintainability

Selected students will maintain their scholarship until graduation as long as they are making satisfactory progress towards their degrees and maintain a GPA of not less than 3.0.

University Scholarship In Orchestral String Instruments

The Vice-Chancellor at UTAS has initiated generous support for students studying at the Conservatorium of Music through establishing 20 scholarships for talented orchestral string players.

Eligibility

Available to string players commencing or re-enrolling in an undergraduate or postgraduate course at the Conservatorium of Music in Hobart.

On-going Eligibility

To retain this award, recipients are required to achieve a minimum Distinction result in all units studied each semester.

Amount

Course fees plus up to $4,000 per year

Duration

Up to three years

Closing Date

16 December 2012 for students commencing in Semester 1, 2013
30 June 2013 for students commencing in Semester 2, 2013.

[Canada] Globalink Graduate Fellowship

Eligibility

Eligible students are top undergraduate students who have completed the Mitacs Globalink summer research program.  The Globalink program currently accepts students from India, China, Brazil, and Mexico. Applicants will be pursuing research-based Master’s or PhD studies at UBC starting in January 2013, May 2013, or September 2013. Applicants need to be registered with Mitacs for theGlobalink Fellowship competition.

Procedures

Application Procedures: 
Students apply directly to graduate programs. Students should contact their prospective graduate program for details about the internal deadline and application procedures.
Nomination Procedures: 
Each graduate program can submit a maximum of three nominations to the Faculty of Graduate Studies. Nominations from the graduate program must be ranked.
Each complete nomination will include:
  1. Nomination letter from graduate program with:
    • Confirmation and description of financial commitment from graduate program and/or supervisor
    • Explaination of why the student is a good fit for the graduate program and the Globalink Fellowship
    • Indication of nominee’s rank within group forwarded by graduate program
  2. Copies of transcripts from the nominee’s application for admission
  3. Research proposal (maximum one page, including references)
  4. Copies of two letters of reference from the nominee’s application for admission

[UK] Clarendon Fund Scholarships at University of Oxford

We are delighted to announce that the Clarendon Fund has now opened up to all graduate applicants regardless of nationality. All graduate applicants to degree-bearing courses for 2013-14 entry will be eligible for this prestigious scholarship.
By applying for graduate study at Oxford University (Application Form for Graduate Study) you will automatically be considered for a Clarendon Scholarship. You do not need to submit any additional documents specifically for the Clarendon Scholarships and there is no separate scholarship application form.
The information that you provide with your application form for graduate study at Oxford will be used to assess your funding application. Once the application deadline has passed, you are not able to provide any additional supporting materials (unless the department you are applying to has specifically requested this in support of your application for admission to Oxford).

[Switzerland] Scholarships for year 2013-2014


Application Deadline : October or November. Please get in contact with the Swiss Diplomatic Representation in your home country,

Through the Federal Commission for Scholarships for Foreign Students(FCS), the Swiss Government grants foreign researchers university scholarships (Swiss universities, Federal Institutes of Technology and Universities of applied sciences). These scholarships are offered either on the basis of reciprocity (fixed number of scholarships for each country) or within the framework of a pool (scholarships without fixed distribution by country). They are intended for young researchers who have graduated from university (postgraduates). These scholarships will enable applicants to undertake research work in the fields which the Swiss universities are particularly active in.
The citizens of the Republic of Kazakhstan and Republic of Tajikistan can apply for research fellowships, PhD scholarships and post doctorate scholarships only.No Master programs will be offered for Kazakhstan and Tajikistan anymore.The scholarships always start in September. (It is not possible to start the scholarship in the spring semester or any other time in the year).
Duration of the scholarship:
Research fellowships: 12 months (no extension possible)
PhD scholarships: 3 years maximum. (The scholarships are not automatically extended. Every request will be analyzed according to the FCS criteria as well as the academic results)
Postdoctorate scholarships: 12 months (with the possibility of extension for 6 month)
The program is valid only for studies in Switzerland. The applications have to be submitted for a preliminary selection to the Swiss diplomatic representation in the student’s country of origin. The Swiss diplomatic representation will then forward the pre-selected applications to the FCS for final selection.
The scholarship is valid only for full-time studies in Switzerland. It is not valid for on-the-job studies, part-time studies, correspondence courses or mixed programs (part time in Switzerland and part time in another country).
Main conditions for the applicants are:1) First class master, doctoral degree or equivalent university degree
2) Sufficient knowledge of the teaching language (French, German, Italian or English)
3) Age limit: 35 years (excluding the postdoctorate scholarships)

University of Leicester Open Scholarships for International Master’s and Undergraduate Students

For Master’s students: 31 May 2013.
For Undergraduate Students: 30 April 2013
Notes and eligibility criteria:
  1. The Open Scholarship Scheme is only open to applicants already holding an offer to study for a degree programme at the University of Leicester.
  2. Candidates for Open Scholarships must be classified by the University as international students for fees purposes.
  3. For Open Scholarships, candidates must not be in receipt of a full scholarship (tuition fees and living costs) from any other sources. Students may only receive one partial scholarship from the University, whether it is an Open or Departmental scholarship. Students with partial scholarship from other sources will be considered.
  4. Open Scholarships are awarded in the form of a reduction in tuition fees payable.
  5. These scholarships are not available for distance learning students.
