Announcing The Ibsen Scholarships 2013


The Ibsen Scholarships award innovative projects in the field of drama and performing arts that act as incentives for critical discourse in regards to existential and society-related subject matters concerning Henrik Ibsen and his plays.
Scholarship funds amount to NOK 1,000,000,- (approx. 135.000 Euro/180.000 US Dollars) will be awarded projects worldwide.
Scholarships are applicable to individuals, organizations or institutions within the artistic and cultural community.
The Ibsen Scholarships are awarded annually and the applications are subject to scrutiny by an appointed jury.
The Ibsen Scholarships were initiated by the Norwegian government and will be handed out for the 6th time in 2013.
Ibsen Awards has till now handed out 19 scholarships to projects in 15 different countries.
The application deadline for The Ibsen Scholarships is April 30th 2013.
The winners of The Ibsen Scholarships 2013 will be presented at Skien International Ibsen Conference on September 16th and 17thin Skien, Norway.

International Scholarships for Taught Masters Students, University of Kent, UK


The University has a long tradition of welcominginternational students from around the world and is pleased to be able to offer a number of scholarships for entry at taught masters level.
The scholarships will be worth £5000 (for one year of study) towards the cost of tuition fees and are offered to nationals of any country paying international fees.
ELIGIBILITY
  • Applicants for postgraduate taught study at the University of Kent may ask to be considered for one of the University’s International Scholarships.
  • In order to be eligible for consideration for a scholarship, all of the conditions 1 to 3 below must have been satisfied:
    1. an application must have been made for a degree course at the University of Kent.
    2. the applicant must have received an unconditional offer of a place on such a degree course.
    3. the University must have received confirmation of the applicant’s acceptance of the offer.
  • HOW TO APPLY – POSTGRADUATE 
    At the point of application for the scholarship, you are asked to submit an original essay of between 750 to 1,000 words on the topic: “Why have you chosen your selected postgraduate taught degree programme; why have you applied to the University of Kent; and how do you see your degree at Kent preparing you for your life after graduation“.

Macquarie University International Scholarship


Macquarie University International Scholarship is a Full Scholarship forUndergraduate and Postgraduate studies.
The MUIS is available across most courses* to cover a range of full international tuition fees for study on campus at North Ryde in an undergraduate or postgraduate coursework degree.
The MUIS Undergraduate and Postgraduate Scholarships do NOT provide financial support in the form of a living allowance, nor does it provide for the cost of visa application, Overseas Student Health Cover (OSHC), airfares, accommodation, conferences or other costs associated with study. This scholarship is not available to students studying at Macquarie City Campus or the Sydney Institute of Business & Technology (SIBT).
Annual renewal of the MUIS Undergraduate and Postgraduate Scholarship is subject to satisfactory performance in the Macquarie University degree program.
* MUIS full scholarships are not available for the following courses: Master of Business Administration, Master of Management, Master of Applied Finance, Master of Advanced Surgery, Master of Surgery, and Doctor of Physiotherapy.
Who can apply?
Applicants must:
  • Be a citizen of a country other than Australia or New Zealand.
  • Have met the University’s academic and English requirements for the course to be considered for a scholarship (must hold a full offer of admission for North Ryde by the application deadline).
  • Have achieved a minimum GPA of 3.7 out of 4.0 for Postgraduate applications and minimum requirement of an ATAR equivalent of 92 out of 100 for Undergraduate applications.
You are not eligible if:
  • You are a citizen of Australia or New Zealand, or hold permanent residency of Australia.
  • You are currently enrolled at Macquarie University for a program which is equivalent in level.
  • You have completed the same level or a higher level of study previously.
  • You are in receipt of another equivalent or major award or scholarship.
  • You are a Study Abroad or an Exchange student coming to Macquarie University.
  • You are enrolled at Macquarie City Campus or SIBT.
Please note that due to an increase in the popularity of the MUIS the GPA requirements have increased to minimum 3.7 for Postgraduate and ATAR 92 for Undergraduate
How to Apply
  1. Applicants must complete an online course application form. Online course application will enable you to select your course and upload scanned copies of the required documents. Once your course application has been processed, you will receive a Macquarie University Student Number which is compulsory to submit the online MUIS application form.
  2. Applicants must complete an online MUIS application form.
  3. Applicants must indicate on the MUIS application form which scholarship they are applying for:
    • MUIS Undergraduate
    • MUIS Postgraduate
Please note that applicants can only receive one scholarship.
To apply for the MUIS Undergraduate and Postgraduate, applicants must nominate two referees to complete a Referee Report and applicants must also provide a ‘Statement of Purpose’ of approximately one page outlining their interest in the scholarship program and indicating how the academic qualification will benefit themselves and their community.
IMPORTANT: The ‘Statement of Purpose’ must be submitted as a Word or PDF document and has a file size limit of 256KB. Incomplete applications will not be considered.

Dr Goh Keng Swee (GKS) Scholarship for Undergraduate Students, Singapore


The Dr Goh Keng Swee (GKS) Scholarship is a private sector scholarship administered by theAssociation of Banks in Singapore (ABS).
Each year, 3 to 4 scholarships are awarded to outstanding individuals from 15 Asia Pacificeconomies (Brunei, Cambodia, Hong Kong, India, Indonesia, Japan, Korea, Malaysia,Philippines, PRC, Taiwan, Vietnam, Thailand, Laos and Myanmar) to pursueundergraduate studies at local universities in Singapore i.e. National University of Singapore (NUS), Nanyang Technological University (NTU), Singapore Management University (SMU) and Singapore University of Technology and Design (SUTD).
The Dr GKS Scholarship Fund was set up by the financial community in Singapore in honour of the former Deputy Prime Minister, who fostered Singapore’s economic development and growth as a reputable international financial centre.
Eligibility
The Dr GKS Scholarship is open to students who are citizens/passport holders of Brunei, Cambodia, Hong Kong, India, Indonesia, Japan, Korea, Malaysia, Philippines, PRC, Taiwan, Vietnam, Thailand, Laos and Myanmar. Singapore citizens and PRs are not eligible to apply for the Dr GKS Scholarship.

The Dr GKS Scholarship is highly selective. Applicants should:
  • Concurrently apply for admission to NUS, NTU, SMU or SUTD. Applicants should adhere to the university’s admission deadlines and guidelines;
  • Demonstrate leadership qualities and possess good academic and co-curricular activities (CCA) achievements;
  • Have sat for, or made private arrangements to sit for the SAT I;
  • Preferably be below 25 years of age; and
  • Select a course of study relevant to the finance sector. Most other courses (such asEngineering, Computing, Law), except specialised courses like Medicine, will also be considered.
Duration and Terms of Award
The scholarship supports a maximum of 4 years of undergraduate study (including Honours). It provides the following:
  • Tuition and other compulsory fees;
  • Airfare (to Singapore and return to home country upon completion of study);
  • Annual maintenance allowance of SGD6500;
  • Hostel allowance based on institution of study; and
  • Settling-in allowance (one-off expense) of SGD200 upon arrival in Singapore.
The scholarship award will be reviewed annually and is subjected to satisfactory performance and academic results.
Scholarship Bond
Successful candidates will be required to work for 3 years upon the completion of their studies in either:
  1. An approved company in Singapore; or
  2. An approved Singapore-based company in their home country
The deployment of scholarship holders to serve their bonds will be determined by the Dr GKS Scholarship Fund.

Fulbright Presidential Scholarship PhD Program, American Indonesian Exchange Foundation, USA


Preference will be given to applicants who serve or plan to serve as faculty members of state and private institutions of higher education in Indonesia and have not previously received any Fulbright scholarship.
Applicants will possess:
  • a Master’s degree with a minimum GPA of 3.0 (on a 4.00 scale).
  • demonstrated leadership qualities.
  • a good understanding of Indonesian and other cultures.
  • a deep commitment to the chosen field of study.
  • a determination to return to Indonesia upon completion of the Fulbright program and to take up academic positions in higher education upon their return.
  • a minimum ITP TOEFL score of 575 or IBT TOEFL score of 90 or IELTS score of 6.5. Please note that TOEFL prediction or TOEFL-like score cannot be accepted.
Note: Based on recent changes in U.S. institution requirements, the TOEFL requirement for this program has been changed. The new requirement is as follows: “Generally, the TOEFL requirement for PhD program is 575 and above. However, a score of 550 and above will be considered for the following fields: non applied Physics, non applied Mathematics, and non applied Chemistry.”
DISCIPLINES
All disciplines and fields of study are eligible for a Fulbright award. The fields of study covered by the Fulbright scholarship program in the past were limited to the Social Sciences and Humanities. Since 2004, however, the policy has been changed to include also other disciplines with the exception of fields related to patient care or medical training or to continue their study at medical school.

KAIST Undergraduate program Scholarship 2013 for New International Students
KAIST provides full scholarship (tuition and fees) and monthly allowances for all admitted students who are not financially supported by government or organization. Monthly allowances will be around 200,000 ~ 350,000 KRW.
